Pet Shop Boys will be rewarded for outstanding contribution to music

British band Pet Shop Boys will be rewarded, in February 2009, the British Awards for outstanding contribution to music, announcing British newspaper The Times.  Photo (1)  See Photo Paper  In the ceremony, which will take place at Earls Court in London, will support the band and a mini-concert live.  Duo Pet Shop Boys, consisting of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, was launched in 1985 and became one of the most popular names of the pop genre in the last decades. The band has sold, over time, 50 million records and had four single-ROMs that have occupied first place in the music charts. Between hits Pet Shop Boys include "It's a Sin", "West End Girls", "Go West" and "Domino Dancing". The band has worked with other successful artists, including Robbie Williams, Madonna and David Bowie. In 1988, Pet Shop Boys was designated as the best British band, all in the British Gala Awards.  "From their first prize, won 20 years ago, Neil and Chris have a fantastic music with songs that were background music to a whole generation. Since then, Pet Shop Boys have become the most influential band of the modern period and fully deserves this award, "said Doherty GED, Chairman British Awards, The Times noted.
